Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal welcomes Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City to the Emirates Stadium in the Super Sunday clash of the Premier League weekend. Both teams are on 9 points and have the opportunity to enter the Top 4 by winning this blockbuster clash.

Leicester City have lost two league games on the trot at the hands of West Ham United and Aston Villa, not long before thrashing Pep Guardiola’s title contenders Man City 5–2. They did, however, beat Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk comfortably midweek in the Europa League.

The Gunners, meanwhile, will take optimism into this game after big-money signing Thomas Partey, brought in from Atletico Madrid, impressed with his performance in the 2–1 win over Rapid Wien. The Ghana national almost single-handedly bossed the midfield, dragging his side from a goal down to win 2-1 at fulltime. Expect Partey to start against the Foxes on Sunday, in what is going to be an intriguing battle in the midfield between the two sides.

In terms of team news, a lot of focus is currently on whether Leicester star striker Jamie Vardy will start the game or not. The Englishman is currently out with a calf injury and would be desperate to return and get back to his scoring ways. Apart from him, Caglar Soyuncu, Wilfred Ndidi, and Ricardo Pereira are also missing due to mid-term injuries. For Arsenal, Willian and Dani Ceballos could both miss out with calf and ankle injury respectively.

It is going to be an interesting watch as the Gunners seem to finally have the personnel to play the coveted 4-3-3 formation under Mikel Arteta. The main battles to watch out for would be Partey vs Youri Tielemans and Vardy vs Gabriel.

This game is virtually impossible to call, with both teams possessing enough firepower to claim all three points. To join in the fun, and engage in some quality, friendly banter, the Football Fan App has created an exclusive Banter Room for fans of Arsenal and Leicester City. Do join in!
